We celebrate and explore grandparenting from the perspectives of living close by and far away from your grandkids. What we discover is that grandparents offer a life perspective that parents just don’t have. Grandparents matter to us when we are little whether we consciously know that or not. How we are grandparented influences the way we parent and the way we grandparent. We also discuss different ways to connect with grandkids and manage differences in parenting practices.
Two grandmothers share their stories and wisdom.
Margie Taylor is the current outreach coordinator at CFRU and the author of “60 is the new 20: A boomer’s guide to aging with grace, dignity and what’s left of your self-respect”, a light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek look at boomers by one of their own. Her website and a way to order a copy of her book is www.margietaylor.com.
Teresa Pitman is a local author and speaker. She has had the pleasure of being present when her five grandkids were born. Her website is www.teresapitman.com.
